I question if this company can do AI when they have been trying to move to the Cloud for the past 4 years. rofl

I think you are being too generous with assuming that this company can effectively deliver or implement anything AI, whether proprietary or licensed from a vendor. They don't have the talent or budget to do it. The limited leadership they did have left to start their own AI company. Good AI talent can write their ticket for any job, and those jobs aren't here. Imagine investing in yourself to develop strong AI experience and then trying to get anything done meaningfully here without politics, budget issues, reorgs, etc. This RIF was to "improve efficiency" in lieu of having an actual strategy and delivering on it

AI will buy it. If we are to be replaced by AI, then AI will be the new consumer. We will be servants enabling a new era of consumerism.

The problem with replacing everyone with AI is that, eventually, there will be no one left to buy what these companies are selling.

To stop AI, you have to stop feeding AI. Stop allowing AI to influence the data we produce to its benefit. Social media, etc. get large populations to behave in more predictable ways, which make AI algorithms seem like magic. In reality, we are become more predictable, sameness, as a result of one tech arm (social media) used to feed another tech arm (AI).

Data comes in existence through activity. Taking back control of the data our activity produces is how you starve AI.

Government is not going to help. Politicians, who used to represent slices of the public’s interests, all take money from AI producers. Checks and balances are compromised.

Solution: Opt out of all things AI, including data generation methods. Technology is not going to solve the worlds woes. It’s eating our planet and shifting wealth to the top 1%, creating class warfare.

That’s the ultimate goal. Get rid of onshore and offshore frontline associates and streamline it to AI. AI does have a salary, benefits, sick time, PTO, or Holiday pay. They will keep some around to manage it, but this company will look drastically different in the coming year. The government has been slow to even address the issue and companies will continue to implement AI in place of humans.

Offshore will not be needed with Ai implementation. India is facing the same issue. It's a race to the bottom.

They will be replacing a LOT of area with AI. IT, Claims, Workforce Management, and customer service among others. There is a big push and a lot of money being spent on it. This will be a large reason for layoffs going forward for the rest of this year. This will continue to affect GBD and CSBD.
This country is going to be in real trouble if the next 5 years with jobs being replaced in this manner. It will make offshoring work seem minor in comparison.
