They always send these emails before layoffs to make sure they have all of your information correct. 🙄

you are a paranoid imbecile at best
using your logic all 240,000 staff will be laid off
It’s not a secret there will be layoffs. It’s not like you mistype your phone number or address in workday and you’ll be spared, oops wrong number, lay off the next guy on the list instead.
Stop being silly and paranoid. Citi sends these out for COB purposes usually 2x a year at least. They do phone tree tests etc. They don’t need your phone (or even your address) attested to in workday for you to laid off. They know where to find you.
You just need to check when the similar email was sent last year
Op here. I have worked at other institutions before, and they most definitely always send these emails out to update your contact information before layoffs. Yes, they send it to everyone because they want to make sure they have everyone's information before it happens, and particularly when there will be lots of cuts .
They sent it to everyone.
They do not need to know your contract infor if you will be gone! Stop this rumor!
COB = Continuity of Business
WHat is COB?
This gets sent a few times yearly. Not officially an indicator.
It’s for COB, stop fear mongering.
So did they send them to everyone, or just people getting the axe?
Interesting observation. You are probably right 🤔
