Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Whats the end for this?

The quality of work is getting worse, when you lay off and not hire. People who used to do a person's job, now have to handle 3 - 4 people's workload.

When will they realize? Everyone wants out, no one wants to come in. Such a horrible company. The worst of all.

I don't have a choice but to be at my computer but I am quiet quitting. I'm on the phones all day needing to show empathy to the customers this company screws over on a daily basis. I am so burned out it's disgusting. I am quiet quitting because I just can't care anymore. I will no longer go above and beyond for a company that does not appreciate my effort and worth. I'm working for the paycheck until I can move on. I hate saying this because I've
always prided myself in having a strong work ethic. Having to take punches over and over again from this company has broken me. Bare minimum for bare minimum, that's it now.

My Job on my current team has always been like that. My manager always immediately assumes I somehow will figure out how to fit more work into my already full plate instead of delegating it to the other fully capable coworkers I have. The manager does not like it when I talk about tradeoffs, you can have that shiny new thing but that means you do not get that other thing you wanted. I didn't used to do that. I found myself always over whelmed and burned out. So my suggestion is to learn really quickly to become comfortable setting expectations that include you having a life outside of work.

Quiet quit on Optum, they deserve it and they owe it to us for the sh---y raises, medical benefits and all the outsourcing! Let them pay us while we give ourselves raises by working 25-30hrs!!

This company values quantity over quality. Leadership is clueless and only look at bottom line. Fat cats keep
Getting fatter.

Who can say.
So many teams are shorthanded or have no staff to do work. I now see teams getting contractors with 0 experience to do the work of people that were RIF. Super important must win business that we may miss out on now becuase we got rid of the people with the knowledge.

They realize, they know. They simply just don't care. They will give those who are still there more work. They won't complain because they are afraid of being next.

People are a dime a dozen. They can offshore to India, the Philippines, and other countries; they pay people cents on the dollar. They don't care if they understand what to do. It's a warm body in a head count. They do not care about their employees or the work they do.

The customers pay and that's all they care about. Stockholder value as long as they make the numbers and their board and stockholders are happy; it's a win-win for them.

You will feel so much better once your are OUT!

They fully realize they just don't care! That's why I'm completely checked out. I work remote and I'm never at my computer.
