Talent mobility

Anyone in the company just sit through this talent mobility meeting and have any idea what is really going on here? I don’t believe for a second it is to “develop the employees”

All the “redeployment” “mobility talents” “redeployment assistance” are smoke mirrors designed to do damage control after the Press/Media got hold of RIFs without WARN act being filed!!
Yeap! You don’t expect leopard will shed its spots? Or do you? NOT !

Given this org is accustomed to unethical business practices, it’s not a surprise how they handle RIF.
Phase1- RIF (quiet) in waves to avoid WARN act
or Press
Phase2- mid management forced ranking (down grade performance rating) to avoid paying severance/unemployment pay out
Phase 3 - RIFs caught media attention. Oops!
Phase 4 - Redeployment to force resignation to avoid paying severance/unemployment.

In the meantime, the top C level continued to pocket more bonuses and stock options..

I FEAR THAT MANY WILL LOSE THEIR JOBS.. WHETHER IT BE FROM LAYOFFS OR JUST NOT FINDING THE RIGHT FIT (WHILE SEARCHING FOR A NEW CAREER PATH).. UHC AND UHG ARE THE BIGGEST OF THEM ALL, THEY PROFIT MORE THAN THE LARGEST BANK IN THE USA, WHICH IS JPMORGAN.. SO GO FIGURE, THEY ARE IN IT FOR THE PROFITS AND NOT THE HUMAN REMAINS THAT THIS WILL LEAVE IN THE WAKE OF IT ALL.

I agree. When ask if people may loose their jobs answer was NO. Anyone have an idea as to which positions may be done away with or moved to offshore?

Its not to develop employees, its their way to get out of laying people off and paying the unemployment. If you apply for a new position and they offer you a cr-ppy position and you decline, you are recorded as quitting. If you do nothing and wait for them to fire you, they will deny your unemployment because they will claim they gave you avenues to keep your employment and you choose not to follow them. United Health Care gives no sh--s about their employees.
