HR isn’t always just investigating employees for the sake of “the business”for all those that keep saying HR is worthless. It’s moving people through the hiring process.
HR is the most useless department next to Admins.
If an HR person is being laid off, isn't an HR person on the call?
Seriously, though, my layoff meeting 2 weeks ago was with my Director. No HR in the room. Director used a script provided by HR, wouldn't look at me, and only read directly from the script.
"What dept/VP?"
The VP was Jennifer Schnack
Was Director on call or just HR personnel
"Can confirm. I know of two colleagues in HR who were let go in the last hour."
What dept/VP?
good luck everyone :(
My layoff meeting was scheduled for 30 minutes. It was finished in 3.
Can confirm. I know of two colleagues in HR who were let go in the last hour.
Can confirm that gates are open. Oh boy….
RE: meeting duration.
No, not necessarily. In Finance, there were no individual meetings to say you were safe, only team meetings after all the 15 min calls were made.
In other orgs a 15 min meeting meant you were safe and a 30 min meant you were impacted. Any truth to that?
Gates are open. Unusual for a Monday.
Turn around is fair play? It's not HR leading these layoffs. There are bad apples in every org....don't blanket label everyone in HR as the villain.
Which department?
I had to call HR to on a few incidents and they responded quickly and correctly.
Accident at office- got my bills paid thru workers comp
Coworker issue- they wrote her up and she quit
Kronos issue - PTO didn’t calculate correctly after outage. Got it corrected in a week.
Turn around is fair play.
