Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

CAP

Anyone whose been out on a corrective action plan or CAP, do they rate your improvement on a daily basis or your scores at the end of the next month? How quickly can they decide to terminate?

They also made the metrics super rigid, expecting perfect before this happened to some of us

I was on a cap when I was told about the layoff…so I spoke to my management and she made a call and had it removed so it wouldn’t stop me from applying for other positions at Optum or UHG. I’m thankful for a kind hearted person who knew how important that was for me to have it removed.

The appeal just goes to the leader one level above the person who put you on the cap in the first place. This means you’re only going to get a fair appeal if that leader can be honest and unbiased, making the odds automatically not in your favor. HR should really have the ability to remove the ones that are clearly BS to keep employees from the extra unnecessary stress and harassment while waiting for an appeal response.

An appeal has to be initiated to attempt to have the CAP removed, even if there was zero warning or discussion by your manager they were placing you on a CAP.

They won’t remove the cap if you go to HR, regardless of no warning. Managers can do what they want unfortunately.

They should state in the CAP how often they will monitor improvement. Should also have been told if initial or final CAP. If initial usually about 3 months. If final a month. Before the CAP you should have been given a verbal and/or written warning. If that did not occur go to HR and you can get CAP removed.
