What Larry maketh, Larry killeth

I need to start working on my Azure certs

Best multicloud: the converged cloud, two clouds in one datacentre.

On 14 September Oracle had a cloud. Had.

Hyperscaler to noscaler, powered by OCI.

If the market thought 66% growth was not enough, Larry gave them the middle finger: wait until Q2.

Massive act of self harm even the iSheeps couldn't do: hundreds of people posting and praising about how they just lost their jobs.

Cloud is just someone else's datacenter. Literally.

Embrace (ODSA), extend (OD@A), extinguish (watch this space).

Tech cloud layoffs in 3.. 2.. 1.. ?

With the exception of Oracle db, Oracle has never been successful at creating technology. It’s always had to buy it’s way into other sectors/markets. No difference here. We’ll see if it manages to take down Azure with its hubris.

What could Bill Gates have on LE?

Absolutely nothing.

I don't understand this either, a big part of LE's wealth is tied to Oracle so, why would he set Oracle up to be buried? He must be have some sort of agreement -- it's no secret that Bill Gates wants to control everything -- He's trying to rule the earth with food supply.... Oprah is buying land in Maui and BG is the largest land holder in the U.S. and continues to buy large tracts of land in U.S.

Of course LE has lost the Cloud war, He got in too late. Cerner and Cloud was supposed save Oracle -- both have been a disaster but, simply because LE would not spend money. Cerner is a huge problem. People have died and he has made false promises to the VA and they bought into his all yack.... he doesn't care, There are times when everybody has to be responsible. Not doing anything is not good,

Even tho, BG eats McDonald's he wants no meat for everyone else. What does LE have that Bill Gates could possibly want ....his accumulated data on every person? Is that going to help develop the 15 minute towns? Seems like he could get accumulated data on everyone, as well if he wanted it. I don't ge it - doesn't make sense any of it. .

Since LE owns 41% of Oracle stock and Oracle has a note payable of 90 billion (been a while I looked it up....could be more or less) can't figure what kind of deal they have worked out.
What could Bill Gates have on LE?
I don't get it. Hope someone can explain,

Two sad human beings that have everything and yet, nothing.

Awesome! Oracle's problems are now finally all in the rear view mirror thanks to the new partnership with MS!

Microsoft will absolutely bury Oracle, guaranteed.

I'm still trying to figure out what is in it for Microsoft. I mean really, Microsoft needs Oracle like a cat needs a bicycle, so what is the deal? Maybe to actually get their hooks into Oracle, but why bother? But I agree, 0 is not in this from a position of strength.

Btw - The Bill Gates video the other poster mentioned was with Steve Jobs, not with Larry. But nevertheless, the same thing is going to happen with Oracle and Microsoft. Larry has lost the Cloud war, and he’s simply waving the white flag of surrender. Too bad.

Microsoft will absolutely bury Oracle, guaranteed. This "partnership" is going to work out badly for Oracle. It reminds me about that once time years ago, when Larry was on a stage and Bill Gates was on a huge screen behind Larry and looking down on him. Just like Big Brother! And Larry then saying with his proverbial hat in his hand, "Thanks, Bill".

Funny how Oracle has its annual "Cloud World" going on this week (or should it be called "Clown World"?). And of course, Larry and his lemming managers are all there all trumpeting how great Oracle is, and how they are going to take over Cloud and rule the universe.

Regulators would never permit a union of two giants, but a partnership? Well that’s okay.

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/14/oracle-founder-larry-ellison-makes-first-trip-to-microsoft-campus.html
  • Oracle co-founder and technology chief Larry Ellison and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke at a presentation on Microsoft’s campus to announce an extension of their partnership.
  • Ellison said Oracle hardware is coming to Microsoft’s data centers, enabling organizations that use Microsoft’s Azure cloud to draw on Oracle database services.
  • The two companies have gone up against each other for over three decades.

I was let go in the April layoffs from a non-technical role. Have been working on my Azure certs and modernizing some long dormant programming skills this summer. Going back to my technical roots.

I concur with this post that nobody is looking for OCI skills or certs, especially in generative AI and application development.

If you’re still at Oracle in the OCI space, you may want to diversify your skill set as a defensive measure.

Always seemed to me that Oracle wasn't even in the top 5......You legit never hear about OCI certs in the cert world.
