Lmao, the BYOD program for contractors is the biggest horse$hit I have seen Suncor rolled out so far. Contractors won't get a credit to buy a new laptop, but yet they need to bring a reliable laptop to work?? I foresee Cyberattack 2.0 in the near future.

The Cyber attack had NOTHING to do with your equipment and EVERYTHING to do with how smart you are in realizing something doesn't look right.
All of us have been using computers for our job now for the past...oh...30+ years....
If you can't spot something out of the ordinary, turn your computer off, hand it to your boss and go crawl into a hole in the ground because you're probably one of those folks that respond to an email that asks for all your personal information in the hopes of getting a cheque for 25 million dollars.
If you are a contractor you should have your own devices to provide the service you are contracted for. How do you function outside the contract!? Suncor should have never provided contractors with hardware such as a laptop or cellphone.
If you are truly an independent contractor then you just write off the expense. If you are a sub-contractor (working for a staffing company) then they supply the gear and write off the expense. Not sure what the issue is for the actual worker?
How bout an amendment to the contractor’s company agreement with Suncor to add the cost for transferring this administration because of this change. It’s time the administrative contracting companies do something to earn what they are being paid for or increase the administrative cost so they can do their jobs!
