Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Never give T-Mobile your two weeks notice. If you quit, just go, they don't respect you enough to give proper notice, don't respect them.

My team was lied too and retained by told we would NOT be part of layoffs, guess what? They lied, everyone on my team is being let go.

If they are going to be lying about layoffs, it's time we don't have respect and quit with no notice.

I would value the relationship with your manager and coworkers higher than TMO. Maybe they may call you for something else when they are somewhere else. Never close doors. If you don’t have a good relationship with management or coworkers, I guess it’s your call.

No one is safe, ever. Circumstances change all the time. Today, your team adds value and the next day it doesn't. Be prepared, embrace change, educate yourself, add skills, and network.

There is no universal 'good' way to lay people off. People will always get hurt. It is what it is. Sorry, it happened to you.

I can understand why tech companies like T-Mobile do not give advance warnings, the same reason you will be locked out of your critical apps that use your corporate login 2 hours after notification. Which is, to prevent disgruntled employees from sabotaging any customer networks or other corporate assets.

Garden leave is not that great. I'd rather hold on to my job if I could.

The garden leave is awesome. Not going to complain about that.

management gives us two months of "Garden Leave" as one of the many things in the severance package. I am grateful for the graceful exit that they're offering to some of us.

They'll never tell you, they can't. You have to pay attention to the what mgmt is doing - less meetings you're invited to, now new assignments, or work has been reassigned. Those are your clues
