Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

ROMs going on?

Are there ROMs going on in specific BUs right now? Management keeps saying no company wide layoffs but reading between the lines there will be layoffs in some groups. Anyone have news that management is hiding amongst the corporate talk?

ROM was a term coined in 2015 layoff in Houston, stands for Resources Optimization.

ROM is a layoff. You will not hear management say it since the employees see it as negative.

What’s a ROM?

The first step is management in SR and BU management get together to work out the percentages (i.e., $$$). That's probably already been done. Then the BU management get together to 'identify the unfortunate', and set up their protection list of high-pots and cronies. Then HR and Legal are notified so they can lend their approval. Then, and only then, are sham "ROMs" and job-placement rounds arranged. By then, all the decisions have been made, they just go through the farce to make it look like it's "fair". Just in case you're wondering, future-CEO EB got her layoff training in the 2015 purge.

Yes, given notices of possible layoffs as part of its restructuring after buying Denver-based PDC Energy for $7.6 billion. Chevron says it has more than 500 openings that PDC employees can apply for.

I’d love a job with Chevron in Colorado. I can’t think of a better location to live right now.

Do they have to apply for the same roll that they have or can I get a jelly roll? I have the same cinnamon roll that they gave me with the GED that I faked the application for.

Greeley has so many open jobs because they’re making the PDCE folks apply for their rolls. CO will have more open positions than it can fill over the next year.

Sjv. MFO, nepotism and poor safety culture that don’t get resolved by power points or meetings in the buildings…if a significant incident doesn’t close the BU first.

Not yet announced but consider SJV in the running. MFO mindset has impacted moral and safety which costs the company more because people aren’t focused. Every dept runs its own agenda instead of partnering to be safe and cost effective!

Considering just about every job in Greeley is in the PDC, I would say yes.
