Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Fewer layoffs than I expected

We didn't have the usual amount of layoffs so far this year. This does not bode well for the next three months.

The Allstate Alumni Facebook page had a post that person was part of 400 that were let go in June. I only know of about 6, but it's the Internet so it must be true.

There have been many under the radar layoffs hitting many areas. 5 employees there, 20 employees over there, another 15 there....and this has been happening very often per HR contacts. Not to mention that the movement of the employees and full areas to third party suppliers/vendors are technically job cuts as the employees impacted are moved from Allstate employees to employees of the vendor with Allstate having no further say or connection to these "lifted and shifted" employees.

Allstate is no longer openly transparent with exactly the job impacts going on that they did in 2020 and 2021. Even communications from senior leaders in which layoffs are happening are not being sent to all areas of an impacted department unless their area itself is affected. Allstate is only communicating layoffs and vendor move to the impacted areas who are being told anyways and of course the investors and states that they are required to.

Are the impacts of layoffs as much as 2020 and 2021....no but there are more layoffs and lifting employees out of Allstate to vendors that we are being told about. That much is certain.

Voluntary turnover has been high in claims this year. Based on the number of experienced employees leaving on their own, I can see no need for mass layoffs. I do expect replacement hires for non BI claims to be overseas.
