Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

How many VCM's got screwed with new pay structure?

Well, they have done it again. They dangled the golden carrot in front of us over 2 years ago when they bumped up starting pay for associates, certified and licensed opticians. Managers got left out of that round. Oh but HO promised to be working on something for the VCM's. Except for the ones who don't qualify for the a raise because we are topped out. Years and years of service to the company and my LDO's literally make $2-3 less than me and i have all the responsibility? Oh, but we bonus. Do we? What about the stores that can't hit the unrealistic expectations laid out by HO? I am sorry for the rant but i am just pi---d off. I am tired of giving everything i have to be passed over for promotions and to not be paid what i am worth. Today i was shown i am just a number with this company even though they have been my life for over 20 years! When is enough, enough?

Cut this pay cut that pay and give management a cost of living raise.

WM doesn’t care about its employees. Start looking elsewhere for a job. WM doesn’t value long term associates and eventually they will make it so bad that you are forced out the door.

Curious what market you’re in where everyone got a flat 6.5 increase. Because what was advertised on the call a few months ago was only about 45% of VCMs would be getting an increase, and that increase would be to where they are $1.50 above the equivalent optician level 1/2/3 start rate.

Completely hypothetical, but if the start rate for your location for an LDO was $26, and you’re currently a licensed VCM making $26.50, you’d get a $1 raise putting you to $27.50. If you’re a non licensed and non certified VCM making $22.25, and the start rate for a level 1 optician in your store is $21, you’d get a 0.25 cent raise to put you to $22.50.

If EVERY VCM in your market got a flat equal 6.5% raise, you must be in a state with laws that require raises to be equal across the board. That is certainly the rare exception in this round of raises, and NOT the general procedure.

I'm a Licesed manager that moved on years ago an wish and I would have did it sooner. Walmart never appreciated my dedication or input. I'm now making the money I deserve, have work life balance and better benefits to boot. If your not happy there are options.

Just curious, are you a licensed manager? The way it was explained to me there is a tiered mgr pay. Unfortunately some of the mgrs will be topped out or close. I thinks states that have non-licensed mgrs saw a bigger increase than licensed mgrs too. Not sure if that helps explain it. Sorry you did not get a raise.

All the VCMs in our market got a 6.5% bump effective 9/9. Not sure what you’re talking about.
