Yubikeys are being handed out to some, but not all to access TMO systems. Some on our team have gotten an email that they will be getting a Yubikey, others have not. For those that have not gotten the email about a Yubikey, is that code for you're not going to be employed here much longer? Anyone have any insight to this?

Everyone on my team who did not get the yubi key email got cut. I called it out on a team call and was spot on.
I think they are just another layer of authentication now required for accessing some systems, the were doing rolling enrollments of them, so not everyone gets them at once. Bunch of people with them got laid off, having one or not isn't a sign of anything.
"What is a Yubikey? What is it used for?"
The 6-8 "security" hoops we currently have to jump through just to work aren't enough
That would take way too much coordination. The peons handing out the yubikeys don’t get priority lists for employees who are safe vs being laid off.
Got one in August. Got cut
What is yubikey?

No. Got email in August and got cut.
No, my department already went through layoffs.
Not everyone gets the email at once.
