NRM Loss of Talent Continues

3 senior engineers, 1 senior manager, and one Director have given notice to Seagate in the last week. None of these people are from Wafer so the weekly number is probably higher. Cue the management apologist, “these are historically normal attrition rates” BS! How are things in Thailand and Ireland in regard to talent loss?

"Nothing gets done at NRM."

You must work at a different LCO than I do.

Nothing useful even gets done at NRM, so not a big loss really.
LCO on the other hand is where all of the important things (AI) get developed. Yet it feels like we're underappreciated for some reason. Engineers at LCO are among the brightest in the world!

NRM update. Wafer is loosing a minimum of 4 Engineers in the last week that we have heard of. Also I missed at least 3 more Non Wafer exempt employees. Is this a seasonal blip or more of a long term trend?

STST engineering specialists leaving in their droves. Huge pay disparities between grades and other local employers by 5-10k pa, healthcare cuts and 50% less employer
pension contributions than most other employers. Disconnect from senior management who look down on them from upon high and shrug their shoulders when notified of another person with expertise leaving. Workloads ever increasing and accidents increasing due to lack of coverage and experience. Slice of cake anyone ?

With the pay cut and stagnant wage it’s starting to be easy to find jobs being offered in the area for higher salary even for lower level positions than people currently have. Get paid more for being at a lower grade / experience level job than Seagate.

Smart thing to do for anybody who plans on working more than 5 years or growing in a career. They only thing to look forward to here is watching big D get 21 million while you and your family suffer zero raise, bonus, and a pay cut probably for years to come.

Expect more of this as the job market continues to improve.

STST continues to loose ESG techs leaving a heavier workload on those remaining making it more stressful and dangerous working conditions, due to the increased workload but Management just turns a blind eye.
