Over and over honeywell resorts to the customer piggy bank. Was just told to accelerate my customer funded work by several months so that we can book revenue early. No hiring. Just work the hours. Customer can’t use the equipment early it will sit. I doubt they even pay early. All a shell game. Meanwhile my project is likely to overrun because overtime will force us to go into a wait mode. Stupid games.

No we got told to do 2 accelerator a month dont pertain to our jobs and top the 80 learning HUBS so yeah behind computer instead out plant area trying train new Peeps? Oh wait you said accelerate at our normal jobs but see above how LOL
after a few years of that repeated request I ask our Sr PMs and directors what was the success rate of exercising all the people involved in pulling forward estimates. The answer was "about 5%... not great but every little bit helped". Basically massive effort for little or no gain.
After I left this crazy place, I now work as a consultant with the Prime contractors and have heard they never had to do that. Typically, Annual / Quarter goals were flowed down and PM/Teams were expected to hit monthly/Weekly targets or prepare to be replaced.
When I mentioned furlough and direct charge 'fill rates' multiple PMs have told me that is illegal.... should call the whistleblower hotline...
I also found a memo plainly posted by HR department when looking for specifics on labor time charging "coaching Managers how to talk employees into burning down all their banked vacation" (anyone remember that?) The top of the memo stated 'NOT to be distributed or shared with employees' under any circumstances (not to print the doc either).
I of course emailed it to all my peers and noted how slimy this company really was... to this day I wish I had kept it and blanket emailed everyone one I knew outside our dept.
