Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Small round of layoffs this month

Word going around home office is there will be a small round of layoffs this month. But no, no area is safe, the bank has been getting hit consistently with the layoffs.

What is this referring to? I haven't heard anything yet and usually we hear if something is brewing. If somebody can clarify, it would be great.

Bank has a cost cutting plan that needs to be done by end of year. That’s why you see consultant firms in here working on ops models. More of a slow steady trickle than anything that will require a WARN notice.

Clearly you did'nt read the annual report for last year. The only reasons bank had a profit was due to investments on consumer deposits. Those investments did not turn a profit for the bank this year.

Bank had a profit last year and we don’t have an investment company anymore. I am confused by the one comment.

Probably one more round before EOY, bank and investment company has a loss for second year in a row and need to mitigate it somehow to appease stakeholders. Layoffs by years end will reduce employment costs and help with the loss numbers.
