@gpq+1o8HSHQL, the investors optimistic about Allstate results based on Progressive is plain stupid!! Allstate will be up for another billion dollar loss next quarter as their underwriting process is broken which was a primary reason for the lowering to BBB..

Wrong. Progressive released positive monthly update that has (for now) lifted the value of many P&C stocks. There is no excess capital to return to shareholders via stock buyback.
