i am expected to attend three technical meetings every day and four project meetings every week to update on my tasks. i do not receive any help or direction from these meetings. What i say becomes a point of action that i need to update in the next meeting. The meetings run longer than one hour and I speak for five minutes. i am wondering if this is a normal for QC?

Very normal for qc
I provide status and etas to pm at daily stand-up and later spend an hour educating pe every day
Frequency of project update meetings is inversely propotional to pm's project planning ability
Frequency of technical review meetings is inversely propotional to pe's technical comprehension
Project updates to pm makes me look busy
Technical reviews with pe gets me visibility needed for promo

Yep! The more issues you bring up, the more work you have to do and action items you need to resolve next week to update the status collector.
When I was at QCOMedy, I called that cr-p "Powerpoint Engineering". Took me hours to compile this cr-p so that the do-nothing PM could berate me and present it as his own.
