EUC officially confirmed going independent H1

Most likely getting set up to be spun off. Wouldn't make sense to stay in Broadcom independently IMO

I disagree that the sale would not get through Anti-Trust. Why wouldn't it. Every other cloud out there has it's own DaaS type service. If TKrause bought EUC, its just another DaaS player, just like Citrix is today... Just augmented by Horizon technology.

So do we know if EUC people will end up on Broadcom payroll or if there is likely already a buyer already lined up to take over EUC on day-1? Someone here mentioned Okta which I think would be a great fit both in terms of the technology, target customer base and a very similar culture.

I find it funny that most of you don't look at earnings to find out that EUC has been feeding other BU's for years. Bunch of clowns.

Everybody knows that EUC and Carbon Black will be spun off.

I thought the same thing EUC going to Citrix, for the same reason (TKrause). The one thing that EUC has going for it is that it can run anywhere. (although AVD is having issues) MS desktop only runs on Azure, AWS workspace only on AWS, etc. If someone gets pi---d at a hyperscaler or a better deal somewhere else its not HARD to relocate. I think as AWS, in particular keeps growing into others lanes (think Insurance, medical, food) then those large customers will want the flexibility to move. WFH is not going away anytime soon and I think as hybrid is more the way, then something like EUC (or similar) will thrive.

Also I heard that EUC is looking bad on paper because VMware is taking their money to cover core and other BUs to make them look better. Just what I heard.

“What if Cloud Software Group (the parent company created by PE that took Citrix private) bought a spun-off VMware EUC?“

That would never get through anti trust…

What if Cloud Software Group (the parent company created by PE that took Citrix private) bought a spun-off VMware EUC? Tom Krause (formerly from Broadcom - the architect of the whole VMware acquisition) left to be CEO of that company knowing what the plan was for it's nearest competitor in VMware EUC. Maybe he and Hock had this all planned from the get-go to spin off VMware EUC, bring it in with a pared-down Citrix, and then have the IP from both companies to compete in that space against Microsoft. Arguably, it's not a huge market anymore, and there are certainly more modern secure access solutions today than VDI, but there's still millions of users of both companies' EUC products and they could certainly milk that revenue into the sunset for a few billion.

It was confirmed today EUC will be independent whether it’s independent inside BC (core not compd on EUC), sold to PE or another tech company. but either way it’s being separated from core sellers

CB has already been in this same scenario. They are an independent BU w/in VMW. But anything could still happen after acquisition. Don't read too much into it until solid acquisition news is made, not internal budgeting.

"Stop shitposting EUC."

confused on how this is sh-t posting EUC?

One puzzling question about the EUC BU rumor, other than a Private Equity raider, who would want to acquire expensive old technology from a legacy software vendor that has already miked this cash cow dry?

Seriously, I question this thinking. The streaming software startups in this space are the logical target acquisitions. WS1 and Horizon, like Brian Madden said on LinkedIn, is toast.

Stop shitposting EUC.
Must be 5 EUC posts like this in the past week!
Either you hate EUC, your job or whatever!

CB has it's own separate deal policy in place and there was verbal confirmation that one will be published for EUC this month, probably next week.

Do either of those things confirm package and sell for either? No, but they do lend credence to rumors of operating independently at minimum and possibly to sale/divestiture.

Pardon my ignorance here but wouldn’t it be tougher for Broadcom to achieve its EBITDA net goal without EUC?

And, if there was some big announcement. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be the VP of EUC sales that would announce it. It would come from higher up the food chain and would be a joint announcement from Shankar since he owns EUC.

"Yeah and how have you "known" about this? We were told in our last EUC leadership call that Core WILL be paid on EUC and there wasn't definitive independent plans by our org. This is a new confirmation we have never received before."

This was mentioned multiple times from various people in the EUC sales org - I'm pretty sure both Rules and Zugelder have brought it ups few times. I am not part of sales so I really don't pay much attention to anything that comes from any of the people there.

...Citrix (Cloud Solutions Group) enters the chat....

Tom Krause wringing his hands with a devilish grin, excited to finally consolidate Citrix and VMware's EUC. The plan is playing out... LOL
