Liz just had an "Important Business Update" meeting for Nancy's org of 168 and bungled the delivery so badly that everyone thought they were laid off. She had to scramble to get us back on the call with an HR rep to clarify we are safe for now but the rep was clear there would be more impacts throughout the balance of the year. Keep on your toes.

Poor Liz. Amber Heard did it to Johnny -- allegedly. Coincidence? Nah, CVS probably has the a similar crack team of lawyers assisting with their layoffs.
I was on the call, Liz read the HR provided script close to verbatim. There was no HR rep on the initial call, and phones were muted so you could not ask any questions, unfortunately. This led to some confusion around if the large group on the call was the impacted group or if this group was officially marked as “safe”. After the confusion arose, a second call was set up 15 min later (with the HR rep this time) to try and clarify this was the “safe” group. However, the HR rep had to play the verbiage carefully and was not able to officially “confirm” there would be no further layoffs for this group the rest of the year stating there still would be Enterprise level changes coming. This angle didn’t really send a strong message of reassurance back to the group which is what was being sought.
Can someone please elaborate on what she actually said?

That was one of the most unprofessional and horrendously handled "Important Business Updates" I've ever seen. It left the whole group in a state of flux, and the back peddling afterwards still failed to put the remainder of the team at ease, because they can't. What a great way to motivate staff and improve morale!
