Is there any truth to the rumor about more layoffs in October? I have seen it mentioned a few times on this board.

Many people laid off are working until 8/31 then their last day with the company is being listed as October. That may be where the October thing is coming from.
CVS does layoffs almost every year, several times a year throughout their various companies, which they own a LOT of companies now. They have cornered 38% of the healthcare market at this time.
You can expect layoffs at many of these companies, mostly one company at a time, pretty much timed with the quarterly financials releases. I have come to expect layoffs twice a year at my company, usually in August and February (around those months) each year, typically right before or after financials are made public.
HR was told some employees will be laid off in October.
Not sure what departments though
Our group (HR) was told specifically we would see more layoffs in October. WorkDay goes live in Sept so it only makes sense they keep the team in tact until they don’t need us.
From what the VP of our department said there will be no more layoffs this year
One way to tell what they are thinking is to look at the stock price
Flat for the last week. Up a little during the last month but down 30% from a year ago.
At this point there is no way to know. For every useful, factual post we get 10 jokers trying to stir the pot and stress people out. Best of luck to everyone.
