It doesn't seem to matter who you work for UHG, UHC, LHC, CHC, Optum, Rx, Financial, Insight, or one of the many others - they just don't care. No rhyme, no reason, dollars and cents. If you were part of an acquisition, you ARE at risk. They don't need you and can't keep everyone. It's about increasing shareholder value. It's all about the bottom line. Layoffs of employees reduce costs so that the revenues appear to rise to meet analyst expectations and delight the shareholders. The company will purport that healthcare costs are rising. Of course they are, they are driving costs up, they would know as they monopolize the industry and access all the information of the competitors. They are a driver. It looks like layoffs here are just normal course of business here. Buckle up for the ride.

The sad part for all hardworking, loyal employees who do a great job every day is that the leaders of each company that was acquired sold you out for money. They knew the plan, all that matters is that their pockets are full. That's all.

Mark in the calendar the Thursday - every other week. Sadly the only way to find out.

Possibly which is why I simultaneously participated in an internal client meeting and also had an interview with another company which was not on zoom. Thank goodness for the mute button! How does optum expect me to find a new job when I'm brought into meetings at the last minute?!? Outrageous. Don't they realize that people are busy going to the car wash and interviewing?
