OptumRx Redeployment Status Thread

Everyone is posting about the layoffs but when you are laid off you are put into Redeployment so they can help you find other jobs within the company. How many people took advantage of that/have been rehired?

Out with the “old” (higher salary) In with the “new” (lower salary). In this greed driven org- it makes perfect sense to save more for the execs stock options/bonuses.

I’m trying to apply internally before my redeployment date. I’m reaching out to recruiters to inform them, but they are giving the run around that they are slammed with the increase of apps because of all the layoffs. A good chunk of apps are stuck this week because that recruiter is on PTO.

They said I could spend my time looking for another job. It’s really a matter of luck aligning just right. I also had a great boss that reached out to a recruiter friend and through that found openings. I still had to interview but my boss reaching out directly to other hiring managers helped. When you are RIF’d , you do move up in priority with HR meaning you can bypass some of the screening and get interviews quicker.

You are either an HR troll, very naive, or simply a fake. You can’t be redeployed when any internally posted job is frozen or already filled, it’s corporate lip service so they can replace your job with an offshore staffer or temp contractor. For every one that gets rehired, 100 are let go so yeah, take advantage of something that doesn’t really exist!

I was laid off last year from UHC and got rehired through this program. I was laid off as a GL 27 and hired back as a GL 28.

I left OPTUM in July 2023. I had a gut feeling. My supervisor told me and several other employees that there was a hiring freeze. After we had 5 or 6 people quit our department. Then I found out last week 8 employees laid off, just that I know of. No one was offered assistance with finding another job within OPTUM or assistance with finding another job at all. One nurse case manager was called to come to a meeting. This meeting was to let her go. This was a nurse that was always being complimented for making benchmarks during meetings. Optum let her and another specialized nurse Case Manager go. But hired new nurse Case Managers. Makes no sense.
