Has anyone been laid off in claims department medicare and retirement?

I was laid off from the claims department for Medicaid and Medicare back in June. They gave me no warning and claimed it was due to business needs. Aka all their QA
The claims department has been slow for months. We run out of work sometimes by noon and they keep saying we will be busy first of the new year because they got contracts. Now I can’t help but wonder if that is true or not.
I don’t know about claims specifically but I’ve seen several post from m&r saying they were let go
Not claims dept but in Medicare & retirement hospice program. UHG did not get awarded the contract so I was laid off in the 8/10 round. Grade 27.
