Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

I experienced much of the same. I was just shy of 23 years with UHG. I had an Above Average evaluation (4 out of 5) and was doing great things in my role. I have been through this exercise before with me on the other end. However, my messaging involved compassion and letting them know that there was little to nothing they could do to prevent this from happening. I got the "script" messaging and was told to "reach out" if I needed anything. I was in total shock. It must be bad when even top performers are let go.

Saw it on a thread that two days before getting terminated from the company ( the position was eliminated ) the offer was REINSTATED ! As in the “position” was revived . I do not know what position that was , but it was in UHC .

Secondly I do not want to give hope but I sent in my severance letter but I have to wait until I am fully terminated on 8-24 to send in my severance letter . Then get approved .

I was a field Consultant .

Keep STRONG EVERYONE !!

I just want #worldpeace and everyone to have their positions back as they should !

As for the employees reviews that lead ship had pushed us to send in ! And submit !

I feel for everyone on this thread. I was let go as well and dedicated so much into my job only to have it taken away on a 5 minute call.

I am heart broken and sad 😢. I know brighter days are ahead, I'm just having a really hard time processing all of this.

I pray for all those affected, and wish nothing but the best for all of you.

Did anyone get the address or email address to send the severance agreement back? I sure didn't. Mine says "employee relations" which is incredibly helpful. Now I get to sit on hold on the phone. Just a final act of degradation to cap off my years of service.

08-11-2023 waking up finding out I don’t have no job . It su-ks . It really does .
It is traumatic but life continues .

Just filed for unemployment .
Might consider this a mini vacation but depression su-ks you all .

Kinda feels like my first heartbreak , never thought it would happen .
I’ll stop venting because it’s useless .

I worked for UHC and Optum for a total of 20 years. When I was informed my position was no longer needed. This company is not stable and doesn't care about the people. Take care of yourself! You'll come out stronger and with a better career!
