Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Any intelligence on the upcoming Professional Services gutting?

I'm hearing everywhere internally that PS will be gutted in coming months. Managers, ICs, etc. Moving to a partner-first model similar to the direction sales was given to push channel-first. This is the new model. You are surrounded by partner companies everyday for brands you know and trust that even wear the logo on their shirt. It's almost impossible to tell a partner or subcontractor or channel person or whatever from a full time company employee. So. Why would Dell pay a 45 year old man with a high-school education almost $200K a year + benefits to fly around and install stuff? Our customers pay more for our products and services and Dell pays more for the labor. Doug Schmitt is a useful id--t and Chris Quirk is an actual id--t but both are fraudulent pieces of sh-t. Fu-k 'em.

Seems inevitable. First with IMAC, pushing installs/maintenance to partners and gutting field services. Now with sales being gutted and pushing "99%" of storage sales to partners. Why wouldn't they do the same with PS? Schmitt and Quirk don't have their quarterly all hands for another month, I seriously hope they address this sooner, as I know many who are just thinking "wtf" and how does this shift in sales impact PS. Letting rumors and tension run for the next four weeks seems ill advised.

I do not have any insider information and have not heard from anyone...just my assumption - Next rounds may be in February (6 months trend - Feb 2023, Aug 2023, Feb 2024) just based on what has happened. This week's layoffs have impacted groups other than sales, hence I don't think it will happen in September (again my thinking only)
