Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

5 Year Stock return v PC peers

Shareholder returns have been awful on absolute and relative basis. Check out the 5-year returns:
Progressive: 101.7%
Hartford: 41.7%
Travelers: 29.5%
Allstate: 12.2%
Where is the commitment to increasing shareholder value? This covers the ambitious (on paper) TG period where little to no value has been created. Auto profitability has cratered on poor loss management, bad pricing, and risk management policies. Claims has become a competitive disadvantage as can't outperform inflation trends or competitors. TW, the BOD, and executive leadership have squandered capital on buybacks, and failed to do anything strategically meaningful. Losers.

They made a decision years ago to forego any type of talent retention strategy, choosing to simply promote unqualified employees up the ladder. This is the outcome.

The only ones that Allstate does right by is the senior leadership team….
The employees, customers and shareholders are scr@@ed…

Past 5 years I flatiron has been about 18% cumulative so that puts AS as a negative investment.
And compared to its peers is without question on a death spiral.

The stock price reflects the poor company performance to peers. The ultimate report card on this incompetent leadership team which seems to be paid on activity and not results.

Why do you think all upper management dumped their Allstate stock a year ago? They knew what was coming and they made tons of money compared to what they’d make if they held on to it.

It's all about the money with you people, isn't it?

What about the sheer joy of being part of Allstate's transformative growth journey? You can't put a price tag on that!

Who would be holding an insurance company stock for 5 years? You have to be constantly be refeeshing your entry and exiting points. Very few companies just trend upwards.

With that the majority of allstatecstock is owned in mutual fund portfolio

TW makes his money and his big bonuses. That is all that matters. Shareholders be damned.
