Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Despite what they say, management is slowly eliminating agents.
The benefit of being a captive is no longer there - beholden to fewer options and higher quotas, plus getting commissions half of independents all while maintaining similar expenses.

AS will NOT attract quality newcomers with no competitive advantage and the long-term agents are checking out of the program since starting over would be devastating.

By design though, AS better get on the AI train because other companies are and they will be left in the dust like Sears if they don't. It means most everyone who is reading this their jobs too so any concern about agents is a narrow take...you are next!

Actually @1tij+1o2Npaie agents do a lot. They still account for most of the premium this company brings in. They take care of our customers and are there for them during the hardest of times. They invest in their communities and do tons of charitable work for those less fortunate. They provide jobs for people and have to work harder than any of us to run their own businesses, especially in spite of how challenging the company is making it for them right now. They are incredible men and women who have made this company what it was, prior to 2020 of course. Too bad the company is selling them out. They deserve so much better.

Do agents even do anything? Agents are dudes who say things like "I may not have book smarts, but I have people-smarts."
