Round One included the ‘low hanging fruit’ such as relatively short-term employees. The severance offered to them was generous but relatively low given their short tenure. Round Two will be deeper. It will include departments not directly involved in day-to-day operational support such as low carbon initiatives, ADEM, capital projects, etc. Decisions will be made at a higher level to reduce manipulation. Rather than one or two members of a team, it will be complete teams. Instead of feeling a sense of security because your colleague was terminated, employees should concern themselves that the work they are doing furthers the goals set out by the C-Suite.

Entire SCM and HR
4jqe+1o1vCyGM is correct. How does it take SCM four months from RFP to PO for services with the preferred contractor?
Kruger / Okdreive will soon implement the “NSI” & “PIP” from XOM so suggest employees familiarize themselves with these acronyms.
There is a reason why big investors shy away from Suncor. Suncor is badly mismanaged with a lot of procedures generated by people who have no clue what they are doing. Suncor needs to purge 30% of the work force and it will run better. Suncor needs to operate lean and mean like other successful oil companies.
So far a vast number of cuts involve Energy Transition. Clearly Suncor is doubling-down on tar sands production … planning to ride the industry into the sunset. I foresee larger dividends and share buyback over investments in los carbon initiatives. Kruger missed the boat with simplification. There are way too many levels of bureaucracy at Suncor. Turnaround Planning & Implementation at Base Plant is a good example. Blue Hydrogen team is another. Distribution is full of individuals constantly coming and going for coffee. Burrard Terminal is bloated. Development Leads & Advisors. The company should have employees reapply for their positions internally like our competitors have successfully done in the past.
Many teams under East Coast should be gone. Such as JV, contractors. Terra Nava should have reductions as persons/barrel is very high.

@dn+1o1vCyGM is correct about Directors and Managers. I know of at least one manager in downstream with a single report.
They should start with HR department, directors and managers.
