Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Springtown Unite !

Coincidence that the Springtown wind down began when the union jammed an unwanted foot in the door ? I hope they will refund their union fees when it closes. Those selling the fairytale sholud start writing their apologies too. Be careful what you wish for friends.
Stronger (but unemployed) together ✊️
Up (whats left of) the workers👏👏

Great to be living rent free in your head, a head that must have plenty of space in it if you believe a union campaign has had anything to do with the mismanagement of the site and the company. Give your big empty head a shake would you lol.

Sorry we're boring you but this mess was your idea. You must be tired of it all now big guy. You've done your bit closing the place. Stand down. Must be exhaustingly conflicting selling your anti-establishment, down with capitalism beliefs for £40k. Oh the hypocrisy. Rhyming union busting with disgusting was genius btw. Your legacy will live on forever in the big white empty factory. Sleep well.

Yeah right guys. Because all other Seagate sites are non union it means if they close 2 of those the union is not a factor here? Seriously, that is your math conclusion? LMAO. Yes, I’m sure Seagate loves extra union costs and would in no way try to avoid those if it can. After all, money isn’t what’s important for the leadership, it’s people being treated well. Dream on guys!

@NewTescos So the fact that Seagate has closed many non-union plants over the years how does that affect your math. At least 2 or 3 nonunion plants are likely to be closed when things are all said and done. Focus your anger on the Bat S&$t California Lunatics who put us in this mess. Good Luck Springtown workers.

So why are all those who started this misadventure now taking voluntary redundancy ? Shame maybe ? Unite lady went on national tv at the start of this and proclaimed " we will fight tooth and nail to save every job ". No dentists or manicurists needed there then. How many turned up at the last call to arms ? The union is doomed because Springtown is. Only those benifiting from the stream of parasitic union fees would tell you otherwise Im not anti union, before you start J.D. Im anti disinformation. Long live the rebellion !

Yeah companies stopped buying drives worldwide because a union was wanted in STST. Only a bluecard would think like that. There would have been layoffs regardless of a union getting one foot in the door.

Having a unionized workforce is in reality a very small percentage of any cause/causes to close a plant. Companies across the globe are able to run profitable unionized manufacturing centers with little problems. If Seagate needs to close a wafer fab which one makes the most sense logistically/financially? There’s also been talks about unionizing the Operators and Technicians at NRM.

Ahh right that old one, nothing to do with the fact that a ballot is fast approaching and your up to your usual anti union tricks oh and redundancies perhaps something to do with a company in dire need of free cash flow cos it’s an over leveraged and paying out millions in dividends it can’t afford, wise up the pair of you.

It’s not a coincidence. If you ran a company would you want to deal with union politics, including more costs and time, or move the work to you non union plant? Of course it had something to do with the planned closure. It’s delayed for now so I would save up money.
