Rehire after severance

How long after I receive the severance do I have to wait before I can be rehired (without paying it back)?

Severance letter says no severance money if you accept a new position at UHG, or they offer you one with at least 90% of your previous salary ,before your termination date. But HR says it's not your termination date, it's two weeks after your termination date. Not to mention processing of your severance pays takes 2-3 pay periods so no doubt they won't pay you if you are rehired anytime in the next month

Thanks! I have not been laid off yet but am waiting - so I don’t have anything in writing to look at.

They won’t hire you back until your severance is over

Everyone there is severance policy you can look up on Sparq. It lays it all out.

Why would anyone come back to this he-l hole?? Jobs and entire departments are being moved offshore, you’d have to be an id--t to go through this again.

It is in writing! With the HR personnel’s name. I would suggest anybody call HR, the line is open and the chat is open 7 am - 7 pm.

If you haven’t already, I would suggest you get that in writing.

I just contacted HR and they said if you receive the severance and is rehired, you do not have to pay it back. Also, if you come back within 12 months or less, you keep your service date.
