This is less and less the company it once was. It's understandable that things change, but Intel has changed a lot for the worse. However, I still don't understand those who say they would like to be laid off. Really? Are you joking?

Log course people want to be laid off. You get a big payout & get to find new work, experience something new, without the need to worry about money.

They gave me nearly one year's salary, and I found a higher paying job in two months.
College didn't teach me how to fill out unemployment claims, stand in line at the food bank, and apply for food stamps. Once I learned, I'm not afraid of CEOs whose only we-pon is to starve you into submission.

Serious, yes. Joking, no. For some, getting laid off w/severance means time to decompress and pursue new opportunities without worrying about money. For others, it means one big last paycheck before retiring.
