Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Is the problem Legal or Procurement ?

Our procurement department is slow. It takes to long to get items approved? Is it turnover or staffing or is it Legal needing more bodies too!

Procurement with no doubt. It is a mess. It was been that way for a long time and never seems to improve. Wonder if they are chronically understaffed

Having a Chief Procurement Officer who has never worked a day in procurement role prior to this job doesn't help. He was on the chopping block a few years ago but is buddies with Maurice so they took him out of treasury and put him here — with predictable results.

It might be going through the PALS review process. That isn't always quick, as it also loops in Information Security and Privacy along w/ the teams you mentioned. With the current state of cyberthreats, I would not doubt if that team is also giving intense scrutiny to any software being brought in.

software contract approval. I continue to have issues with the change of personnel. Seems that it’s always a new person that is handling contracts. The last comtract took seven months and 3 different people to approve a $78k deal.
