I did not get the impression that the industry is looking to hire Allstate employees. However, I see a lot of people here claiming the opposite. Any thoughts?

I just celebrated 2 years at progressive, I got outta big blue 2 years ago and make 20k more a year.
Got promoted once already too.
I was stagnant here. Unless you were su-king up to managements whims you weren't moving up
Nobody I know in IT has had trouble getting another job (if they wanted one) - ever.
As far as claims goes there is still some opportunity but the majority of our talent has moved on. It was rumored that Glenn stated he would cut cat pay and that he didn’t care if we had a mass walkout. Literally everyone I know that has left is making more money and working about half the production. The replacement staff we have now is laughable. Zero experience and/or knowledge about construction or insurance for most of them.
Depends. In claims, the industry is well aware how poorly run that side of the organization is. It is constantly mentioned when I’ve interviewed elsewhere as competitors have heard the stories by now. I’ve found that because competitors know how tough Allstate is, they are well regarded in the market.
Allstate leaders are seen as pi-ps outside the industry.
Depends upon department and experience. Some companies want the developers, others think they’re useless, some poach the security members, others wouldn’t trust them to use Alexa to ask the time.
I have a relative that works for Flo in Mayfield Heights OH. Their HR and claims units are aware of Allstate's tailspin, and how it is impacting Mayhem employees. If you apply, they understand you have a good reason to change employers.
Lots of variables:
Which department you worked
How long you've been there
Your level
I've seen a lot of people get poached by competitors
