If they call me on my day off I make sure I put in a time adjustment for it. Doesn't matter if it's 30 seconds or 30 minutes they are going to pay me for taking time away from my time off.

I began with Walmart 33 years ago but could only make 32.5 years before I just could not take it any more. All but three of those years were at Sams. Those first three were at Walmart. A distribution center in fact. Once during my first year there I was out of town for the weekend. Monday through Friday was the name of the game at that point. When I came home around 1 AM Monday morning needing to be at work at 6AM my little brother dutifully passed on a message from my manager that had been delivered over the weekend while I was gone. It was that I was to report for work at 5AM. I went in at 6. My boss scolded me for not coming at 5. I told him he had no right to tell anyone about my schedule change and hold me to it but me. Another thing happened. I was once called and told not to come in because our work was not yet ready for us to do so don't come in till two hours later. When I came in about half the crew was sitting there getting paid for two hours of not working. I ask what was going on. Oh , the manager said, he was not able to contact them so they got paid to sit til the work was ready. And then they went home when their eight hours were done leaving just a few of us to do in two hour what the whole crew should have been doing in two hours. After those 2 incidents I only answered a work call a couple times in the next 31 years and regretted it both times. Unless you are waiting for an urgent call from your work DO NOT EVER answer a call from your work !! If it cant wait till you clock in you probably will regret answering it.

Ditto here. I used to answer during my first 3 years. Not at all for the next 17 years. If a mgr doesn't know. They shouldn't be in that position

Happens to me all the time, they don’t ask me to come into work, just asking a lot of questions ! I just ignore them now. They need to figure stuff out on their own
