I'm not trying to justify it, but I understand those who decide to do so - some intentionally "try" to get on the layoff list and there seem to be quite a few instances of this?

I think the work environment is so toxic and dysfunctional, your rewarded with a huge dose of normal when you leave. What's that worth? Priceless.
100% agree. What a bunch of su-kers they have running that place. Get out while you can and if you can't? Get out anyhow. Trust me!

This is about the only thing that has not changed at Lumen and its predecessor companies. Getting paid to leave has always been the way to get out.
Abandon ship!
That's exactly what Lumen wants.
All the ones who took the buyouts in 2021 were 60 and older. They replaced all of them with younger and less paid workers
Lumen is also speeding up the death to copper and expanding rural FTTP with RDOF.
Abandon ship!
If you want a raise apply for another job.
I have 16month before I turn 62. If they offer a package I’m out. It would be awesome if they paid me to leave. No raise in7 years. Offer me the package
They wanted to put me on a pip? You down with VSP?
Simple-just sc--w up on metrics and get written up a total of three times and done, then say to the management "It's your loss, see you in he-l!" Pretty amazing a company is more then ready to fire someone who has good technical and troubleshooting skills over stupid and i men STUPID metrics, I heard one manager say "metrics are to insure a great customer experience" I wanted to throw up!. The workers and techs are in a no-win situation- and its not a question of if but when I and many others are shown the door. For now I'm just going to don a toga and start fiddling.
The fastest way to leave is to fail L2S.
Where do you sign up?
There is no try, only do.
