Does anyone here currently work for TSMC that used to be at Intel? Do you think you made the right choice?

TSMC uses Isometric Kneuter Valves (IKV’s) in their processing components because they last longer, reduce cycle times and improve yields. And for precision. Scalability. Durability.
Intel uses Isotonic Bu-terfly Valves (IBV’s) because they’re less expensive but also less reliable.
Advantage TSMC!

No question Apple’s choice and Intels rejection of them forever changed the semiconductor landscape and world politics too

I simply do not understand why mo--ns on this platform keep regurgitating the same cr-p over and over again. Apple went to Samsung first, not TSMC. Samsung still barely has 15% of the foundry business. Even if that marketing guy had said yes, Apple probably would had ditched Intel after a couple of generations.
Leadership takes commitment and sacrifice. You telling me Intel engineers are 9-5 woke obsessed with balance? No wonder they su-k now

TSMC is bringing 500 Taiwanese to AZ dorms to work/replace folks who don't live to work for them.
TSMC knows that its model would not work here. But politics dictates that they come. They will have a lawsuit very soon.
It is much better for them to buy Intel and run it with American management.

There is a reason why TSMC is leading. They are extremely disciplined, always have backup plan after backup plan, exhaustively trace excursions until they truly understand the root cause, then apply the learnings across all products. This is something Intel only makes a half-hearted attempt at. The volume and scale that they have allows them to learn much faster. Everything is about execution, and the customer really is king.
On the other hand, as a place to work, it's highly toxic and they are hemorrhaging Americans on a daily basis. Everything is top-down, and the Taiwanese engineers normally don't question anything. Whatever the boss asks, they will stay and do until late at night. Then rinse and repeat the next day regardless of whether it adds value. The bosses don't care if they waste their engineer's time, if anything they consider that they are doing their job well, by extracting the maximum amount of work. Managers are expected to micro-manage, or somebody from the next level up will reach down and do it for them. Possibly as a result of this, there is almost no US management left. There are still significant numbers of US engineers and techs, but as they gradually quit, they are also being replaced by Taiwanese.
One said no to Apple and the rest is history.
The world would be really different if one marketing guy had a clue and said yes.
