Agreed. Depressing place to work. It’s all about the stock price and looking good with diversity efforts, sustainability, health equity. Employees come last. Consistent layoffs. Cutting older people be those who make more.

I was there 8 years in Payment Integrity then Healthcare Economics. Another co-worker of mine in Specialty Benefits got laid off and took another position within the company and regrets it now. I was laid off 8/2023 but was able to switch to Humana fairly quickly on a job I had applied to June 2023, since I saw the writing on the wall. UHG is an odd beast, with a weird relationship between UHC and Optum, at least in my experience. The Spark homepage is always full of people telling everyone how great it is to work for UHG, but truthfully it's #1 Customers, #2 Shareholders, #3 employees. I'm a lot happier and less stressed but still waiting on my severance though.
