I have an interview coming up for an OCI sales role. What are all these layoffs? Has something happened in the past week that I should know?

By all means, if you’re offered a job take it. What could possibly be a negative working at Oracle? After all, they never layoff people there do they?

Down here in Austin we have a name for guys like VP conspiracy guy. Big hat, no cattle. Delusional, but views himself as a player.

It’s really horrible, mid mgmt’s way to be rude. They only know how to Deflect, degrade, lie. Cheat, steal. They think it’s their right to do so. Worst mgmt on the planet.. ..and they will

Wouldn’t waste my time interviewing better to find another company. There are so many that have been layed off at Oracle over the years that found better jobs, better money … elsewhere…and it’s always good to read that leaving Oracle was the best career move ever….

Unfortunately that’s the way this message board operates sometimes. There’s a lot of bruised egos here that feel the need to act superior. It’s not hard to see why some of these people got laid off when they talk down at others like that.
OCI thinks it sells itself, so not sure what you would actually be selling. I mean, it has a 2% market share and all.
So let me get this straight. You were just laid off, so you jump on board with another company that is threatening layoffs, and get angry at those trying to warn you. Are you looking for a managerial role?

If you are just starting out or haven't been in the game for a while, take the interview. It is good experience. Doesn't mean you have to take anything. In fact, I don't recommend it unless you are desperate. But use it as a tool to get better and perfect your interviewing skills.
Run! Run very fast!
If you must come, ask for the moon because you will not get a raise for years!
