Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Are the layoffs limited to Cerner or more to come?

We know that last month Cerner had a significant layoff. Maybe this was to be expected given the amount of money Big O paid for them ( it was the largest in our history of acquistions).

I hear a lot of chatter about LE going for a RIF on Oracle employees, but my management isn't saying that they heard anything coming. The stock was up 50% this year and biggest increase since 1999, so shareholders ( like LE ) are quite happy).

The performance would seem to go against a upcoming layoff, but is anybody getting anything definite? Overall the place is on pins and needles.

Yes of course there will be more layoffs, especially on O employees. The fact that the stock is up 2x from 10 months ago is even more reason why there will be more layoffs coming. LE is hungry for more profits and stock increase can only deliver but so much, on the other hand cutting the staff to the bone, will get him a lot more profits...get ready, layoffs are on the way !!

Some really cold and heartless responses here about those who got RIFd. But those making these cold comments will soon find out what it’s like to be dumped by Oracle. It’s called karma.

Not just Cerner, it’s across the entire Company. A layoff of sales kids happened last week. REF will have a large riff soon. Let’s all remember that Facilities are the amazing people that keep your drinks stocked and ensures the buildings are running smooth. Once it’s outsourced you will have no one to complain too.. It’s terrible. Not fake news, but reality. Remember to be kind folks. Peace and love.

To the point made below about “ This layoff number is peanuts “, I think the person was only referring to the "number" of layoffs and nothing about the individuals.

In other words Cerner has something like 28,000 employees and a few hundred comes to a very small percent. Likely these ones were anyway going to be negatively impacted because the horrible VA deal was renegotiated to the detriment of Cerner. I suspect this person was an Oracle employee and looking down the barrel of many many thousands of job cuts and I think the point was on face value this doesn't seem fair.

Any case, I think we can all agree that just one layoff is bad at the individual level.

As usual the brunt of the upcoming layoffs will be borne by Oracle employees not Cerner. That is the appreciation LE gives to those of us who have been here for years and years and built this company into what it is today. What do they say, "thanks for nothing".

An elephant might appreciate peanuts, but not your perspective if you were one of those let go!

What's the old saying? A recession is when your neighbor loses his job, a depression is when you lose yours.

O is not just handing out pink slips and getting to ready to cut thousands more, but it is also rescinding pending job offers and closing out open positions. YES, many more layoffs will be coming!

The actual number of layoffs at Cerner was not published, but reports indicate it was in the hundreds. Much of it due to the botched implementation at the Veterans Affairs. This layoff number is peanuts.

However, big O has not commented either on the speculation that there are about 3000 on the layoff block. You can bet that these will be hitting the O employees in a big way and since they are keeping it quiet, it's a sure thing it will be more than 3000.

So it's not a home run for LE but a Grand Slam, he gets the benefits of a huge stock increase and also will be slashing costs on the backs of the people who built this company!!

This is a silly question so I'll give you a silly answer.

There are more layoffs coming. Many, many, MANY more!
