New roll for JG

Marginal Australian consulting company Worley Limited announced that Dr. Christopher (Chris) Haynes OBE has decided to retire after eleven years on the Worley Board effective 30 June 2023. The company announced the appointment of Joseph (Joe) Geagea as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Board of Directors effective 1 July 2023. Joe will become a member of the Nominations Committee and the People and Remuneration Committee.

Joe's appointment to the Worley Board follows his extensive career at Chevron Corporation, where he most recently held the role of Executive Vice President and senior adviser to the Chairman and CEO. Prior to that appointment, Joe served as Executive Vice President of Technology, Projects and Services. Joe holds a Bachelor and a Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Worley indicated they hoped JG would help them land more lucrative contracts to repair the failed Gorgon project.

Always nice to have a jelly roll while you are getting a roll in the hay!

One of our biggest problems is that Exec Mgmt does not have the courage to fire a senior leader even when they know they are terrible. It is easier to give them modest ratings and just wait them out to age 65.

“Wonder if he wants to play the victim card? Remember that comment in one of his town halls?”

Absolutely, we remember that! What was truly repugnant, though, was how the recording of that session mysteriously disappeared from Stream. I mean, if you’re gonna be so blatantly callous in your remarks, at least have the b411s to own your comments, instead of hiding.

BTW, was that the same call where he had technical difficulties? Jesus, that would be priceless!

Big Joey! I bet he really wants to "transform" the company. Him and MW do seem to love layoffs.

JG had high hopes for a much more significant role at a larger company but this didn’t happen. He was turned down at Shell and ConocoPhillips. It took a year to work his way down the list to a small engineering company he could strongarm.
