Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO timeframe

Anybody not in the first wave I would suggest you start looking for a new job now. Stankey wants us to gradually leave over 3 years. The best way to stick it to him is get another job now and make them deal with a mass exodus now anyway.

My wife has 22 yrs and just made the cut for the old school retirement. Our lives have been made by Ma Bell. It's too bad that Att will no longer be a company to spend your life with a long career and retirement. SAD

My house will be paid off in two years so three years of work is perfect. I’ll take my severance and work at Walmart at that point

OP here. I’m part of the third wave, which means I have to put up with this sh-t for 2 more years to get a severance. That’s not worth it to me especially since I only have about 15 years left to work before I can retire. Better to me to start somewhere else now before I get to the age that no one will hire me. Good luck to all dealing with this!

Or, if you have a rainy day fund, chill and wait for the severance and 6 months Cobra. AT&T is winging it - we'll see where this goes.

Last weekly unemployment report - declining initial claims. There is still employee shortages.

Give it about six months and this will change.
