Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Should we expect to be laid off Sept 25?

Apparently that is the next time we might lose our jobs.

I guess ill start applying non stop now and study for interviews instead of working on my work here.

Its not like I am getting a high compensation here ( no stocks etc) and its not worth worrying everyday. Even if i worked hard, I could get sacked next time this happens with no regard

@yzx+1nmzNB26 - okay, I was not counting those. If your work is moving out, then yes, more to come. BUT it will happen when the knowledge transfer is complete, it does not have to be the last week of September.

@idd+1nmzNB26 Um-nope. There are areas whose upcoming outsourcing and offshoring is a done deal it has nothing to do with # of retirements They are just waiting for knowledge transfer activities and contracts to complete.

NO, not in 3Q, but in 4Q and only if there are not enough employees retiring due to the drop in the pension lump sum for 2024. HR is estimating 500-800 retirements. Not as big as last year, but could be enough to hold off on December layoffs.

Apparently, we should all expect to be laid off at any time since there aren't ever any notices.

Yes, we should expect more ford salary firings in USA 🇺🇸 by September 2023. JF’s Ford + Woke EV Master Plan dictates this destructive action. Figures are another ~2,000 heads according to an LL4 who told me but was just fired into retirement this week. He was a good person and a good man and a great manager. We’re screwed when quality and high value people like that are forced to leave in such a violent way. It’s wrong in all aspects.

Remember: There is NO company that cares about it's workers when it's time to cut. If they really cared, all the executives and board members would take a $1 in salary for an entire year to show they really want to turn around the company. But even after making millions they will not work for free. Greed rules upper management and you are really just a low level employee they will push to meet the deadlines for them to get the green checkmark and a hefty bonus. So start updating your resume and learn as many skills you can (even on the weekends) to prepare yourself for the next job. And don't forget to learn about AI as much as possible. AI is the future of everything.

Your manager should tell everyone or hint it to everyone in the group to start updating their resumes. And take as many training courses and get up to speed on as many tools as you can. And the manger should do the same. Tesla is going to crush Ford and GM. EVs is the future of automobiles.

Yup if the lay off were not based on performance.

Why even bother working well at all? It won't increase your chances of not being cut.

get off that boat.
It's sinking and it's sinking fast.
