RTO is just a maneuver to terminate as many people as possible without severance and benefits. Once the Hubs are in place a second round of layoffs will begin.

I agree with OP. If you are lucky enough to be near a hub or spoke center and are covered this round, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if another round to further shrink the footprint will follow in the months to come.
I’m holding out hope that we will have a leadership change at the executive level who will have a difference in philosophy. It happens all the time. We’ve all been through this same exercise multiple times - just not to this extreme. If you’re able, fasten your seatbelt and this will fade away like everything else does. There’s media traction and this exercise is gathering negative attention. We all need to play our part in making sure those things continue to gain momentum.
You are probably correct. Past performance is a good indicator. Obvious attempt to cull the herd and then cherry pick the survivors
