Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I left that disaster for another remote job. The culture at my new job does not at all resemble Allstate. Employees appreciate remote work. The issue Allstate has is they have very poor leadership that doesn’t know how to manage in a remote environment.

I am fairly certain remote work has had nothing to do with the decline of Allstate. It is the leadership. They have been losing market share for the last 10 years. If anything, not having to be in the office to attend pointless meetings or have a do nothing Director walk by to waste your time with a check in, has helped productivity. The amount of time wasted in that cubicle zoo was staggering.

He needs some ideas as stock approaches a 52 week low. From a net worth perspective, nobody gets hurt worse than him given his massive holdings of Allstate stock provided through annual grants. Not sure they've been earned with corporate performance the last few years, but the BOD decided otherwise.

View his content of 8 years ago ( same Aspen session) on You Tube about importance of placing people and their education first. He cites importance of meaningful work for employees. Seems to have forgotten.

Allstate went woke and now is going broke.
