Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Repeat this mantra often: The more AIG spends the more Accenture earns!

Accenture "aid" is very, very expensive and can't garantee any particular benefit to the overall picture. The smart idea of our top management was to rationalize the processes and then let AI and automation do the rest (accenture was supposed to be just a stepping stone that in the end would have to just handle the IT).

But AIG is a mess, processes often Aren't clear at all, complicated to understand also for normal humans let alone for programmers that are supposed to code them (pun intended).

Moreover, AIG and Accenture have opposite goals, the more AIG spends the more Accenture earns, how the he-l can they be aligned???? Sure, you read that chatGPT is capable of writing articles and generate great ideas but it's all bullsh-t, it's just a fast Copy/past of stuff taken from the internet with no control on the final output, it's still a long time to reach Terminator scenario.

So, at some point things will stop working. Look at Twitter, if you fire thousands of people from a Company that underperform blaming them for the results instead that the management, reality will come back to kick you where it hurts

I am sick of working with Accenture. I have tried and tried to work with them but they make it very difficult. Tired of it.

Truth is, our leaders need someone to tell them what to do. Look at the top management talent, anyone impressed, especially in IT? If Accenture or BCG or KPMG or Deloitte weren’t here, how would the big wigs get their kickbacks?

I find this to be accurate. I worked for Pacific Life for 10 years and they started on the same path in 2018.

Basically met with Accenture and started following the AIG playbook

outsource outsource outsource

contractor contractor contractor

India India India

= Winning

Automation efforts / project costs are loosely controlled and the actual work is done by Accenture with tons of internal people working as middlemen.
Not smart use of funds. Business cases fabricated. We gave away millions - no one checks real Return on Investments.

More than half of expensive “system releases” are fixes for things we paid for already that don’t work. Leadership not paying attention. Stop the money going to Accenture and use it to staff employees whose work really makes a difference.
