Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford - Where's that family loyalty you preach

GM and Stellantis went with a voluntary package.

The Ford UAW legacy folks will get a 2 year bridge to reach their 30 year pension.

And Yet... for your salaried employees you take the forced firing route without any care or concern of the environment you create for those that get fired and for those left to wonder if they are next.

Not to mention the people who have given you almost 30 years of their lives - many of which were very profitable for you - you let them go before they could cross that finish line.

You don't care that for almost 30 years they were working and counting on that pension you promised. They continued to believe that you'd honor your family mantra and treat them with respect and if nothing else, you'd let them retire from Ford with dignity and the ability to enjoy their retirement.

Would it have ki-led you to add a year or two to get them to 30?

Shame on you. Ford is no longer a family except to those at the top who continue to cost $$$$ but cannot execute or see what amazing talent they are letting go because they think they are not the right talent. Many of whom could run circles around your new talent if you gave them a chance.

@1vlw+1nlNInLf @1uux+1nlNInLf <-- these guys tell the truth. 10x more truth than current execs. for all the slackers at ford, there are plenty of good people doing their best for the company, and they often get treated like garbage.

If prospective employees read this web site and learn how THEY will be treated, Ford will not attract the best and brightest, but rather the mediocre and desperate. The mediocre will not give Ford the competitive advantage they claim this “transform” will give them, and the desperate will leave at the first chance. Ford will have nothing to offer but high salaries, much higher than they are paying now. Absolutely no loyalty and no “golden handcuffs”.

Any company that claims it treats employees like family should be suspect. This claim is evidence of a toxic work environment. The problem Ford has had is that the bankruptcies GM and Chrysler got around 2009 left them with clean balance sheets. Ford did not file for bankruptcy because the Ford family could not come out the other side with effective ownership of the company. The result was that Ford's balance sheet did not get completely reset leaving substantial legacy costs on the books. Ford is making up for it with the latest layoffs. Ford was never in a position to treat workers like family. Continuing to preach that lie makes the company culture toxic.

Went on many launches, local and overseas, with a young family. Always left home on a Sunday to show up Monday AM at the plant, came home Friday late evening. No OT on a few launches, just 2 weeks comp time. So many stories to tell over the course of 20+ years, just like many of you. Booted out many TA's later.

Why are they treating us like we are the enemy. Gave them sweat and blood to deliver and help the company. Thinking back on all the hundreds and hundreds of casual OT hours, un paid of course,, to deliver for the company but only to enrich the elites at the top who are bankrupting the company. And this is what we get in return??

One week 120 year celebration. Next week cuts. Next week 4th of July.

Nice people at the top of Ford.

Maybe Field should pass out pink bunny slippers to all remaining Ford employees
