Does it really take 60 days for severance payment to made? How do we pay bills if we have not found a job yet? This is ridiculous.
I’ve also heard it seems like NatGen is reducing headcount. Don’t have details though.
Accurate. Natgen HH Sales layoffs happened yesterday (1/25).
1Wtod+1nkEIm3X, it’s 2 weeks per year of service. Minimum 6 weeks, max 52 weeks. After the 60 day notice period obviously.
The OP was accurate about June and October 2023. I have to assume OP is correct about another layoff round in Q1 of 2024. BTW, NO warning about the October layoffs in claims, IT and upper management.
Can someone please share the severance package details who were impacted during this round of layoffs (Oct 2023)
Entire testing environment support team let go. Most over 50 years old.
Claims, IT and Legal management level hit hard in October. Not much warning.
Are there layoffs really in allstate or natgen? I don't see anyone searching for jobs in any job search sites or any WARN notices in web. I really wonder why are the professionals are so silent and not searching for jobs.
October 11 Nat Gen 512 people were cut
Layoffs did Indeed happen today 10.11.23. “Budgets cuts, saving money” BS excuse!
@4diq+1nkEIm3X what does the redundancy package include?
They have asked employees to sign a NDA in ANI or risk losing their redundancy package absolute sc-m. I hope the media in ireland eat them alive nothing has been reported yet unfortunately.
October looks to be an additional 10k with similar numbers in Q1 next year.
It’s a bloodbath.
Lay offs began Wednesday in ANI. Some people still have to attend their layoff meeting next week they're not finished yet. I'll be updating my LinkedIn as a precaution, good luck everyone
ANI is hit. Received calls in Wednesday evening.
Looks like the October RIF is going to be larger. Has any body seen WARN notices filed with the states. Checked IL & NC. See filing from State Farm, Walgreens, Wells Fargo etc Seems like Allstate can now skirt WARN notice requirement as the workplace is your home and so effectively just one person is being laid off and does not meet the thresholds or a faltering business
"The WARN Act requires employers with 100 or more full-time employees (not counting workers who have fewer than 6 months on the job) to provide at least 60 calendar days advance written notice of a worksite closing affecting 50 or more employees, or a mass layoff affecting at least 50 employees and 1/3 of the worksite’s total workforce or 500 or more employees at the single site of employment during any 90-day period. Not all dislocations require a 60-day notice; the WARN Act makes certain exceptions to the requirements when employers can show that layoffs or worksite closings occur due to faltering companies, unforeseen business circumstances, and natural disasters. In such instances, the WARN Act requires employers to provide as much notice to their employees as possible."
Layoffs did happen on 6/28/2023 across AES. Approximately 600 people in US, Ireland, and India were let go over Zoom meetings or phone calls. US and Ireland were hit pretty hard. The next AES round of layoffs is scheduled for October 2023. The TG project is consuming tremendous capital without a return on investment. Layoffs will continue in order to reduce expenses. I have been with the company for 9 years. There is no way that TG will be successful!
OP here. A reduction in force need not be a formal layoff. Rebadging, Offshoring, Right-shoring, etc are all forms of force reduction.
Heads out of as--s, people.
If and when there are actual layoffs Allstate has to follow the WARN Act. I encourage you to check your states WARN report. It’s public info and may provide some insight into if there are actual layoffs. Trust me the info is out there, even within All Connect. If you know what you’re looking for it’s there.
Rumors from a few over in Allstate NI that the cull has begun there today
All the useless sales leaders should be let go. We don’t need any email pushers on how to hire and spend more money.
They cut the regions now rip the band aid off with dead weight
For all you deniers, the culling is across the board, and it will continue in more rounds. Allstate and the other insurers have been losing money, Progressive is probably the only one ahead at the moment. Wake up.
Half of the Zone 1 LDU adjusters were let go…..is that specific enough?
I would find these claims more believable if the OP or commenters included information like departments. Otherwise, just sounds like they’re crying wolf to get a reaction.
Stop the lies. People are not and can’t be let go next Friday. That’s not how activity like this is handled. Liar.
Which depts? Zone?
Unreal how cold this company is…..half of my unit was let go this morning and they found out by EMAIL!!! Their last day is a week from this Friday.
Today? Which dept?
It has begun
Cool story, bro
$1000 entrance fee for Kool aid event for agents in Orlando. Allstate has lost its mind on costs
Think about it. The slow down of new business. The mass exodus of customers, and another triple digit million dollar loss for. 2nd quarter. What else could they do? They won’t be able to raise rates out of this one. Lay offs and restructuring are bound to happen May not happen this summer, but the numbers are so bad layoffs are definitely coming especially if you make over 50K
Will they open the annoucements with Celebration by Kool & Gang and close with “All in All Youre All Just Bricks in the Wall” from Pink Floyd like the 2020 announcement?
Anyone who claims this as an unruth only demonstrates you werent part of that fiasco, or are one or the HR lurker shills.
Really, you couldn’t fabricate such an outlandishly insensitive introduction to a downsizing announcement—it would be perceived as a farce if wasnt completely TRUE.
Just stop it.
Horrible Q2 results. Less customers, less managers, less staff.
Sinking ship run by Capt Wilson and Gilligan Mario
Nonsense, which will be validated when no RIF occurs tomorrow.
Why would this be separated by geographic areas as someone claims?
It makes no sense to ‘get rid of 50% Illinois employees” instead of restructuring something like marketing and cutting 50% of that across all of the US.
There is no huge layoff. In fact there will be “no reduction in employment”. If impacted you’ll be transferred to another department, with no choice of where or you quit. I’m sure they are banking on a large number of people quitting.
My opinion (FWIW) is that ANI is safe as long as they're relatively low cost
