Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoffs Q1

The layoffs in Q1 will be vast, widespread, a bloodbath, blood on the streets. The layoffs this quarter will break the will of the Oracle rank and file. Show them that they are pawns/peons.

The layoffs will not ever stop, the axe will continue to be wielded with vigor, enthusiasm, and extreme gratification of the Oracle executives/shareholders.

“So … STOP putting up with this abuse! Get off you fat behinds and find something better."

“Oracle doomat principle is alive and well. Doormats still abound at Oracle.”

There is no evidence in this thread of anyone putting up with this kind of abuse or of meeting the criteria for the doormat principle. Just a bunch of people ranting about nothing.

Fear sells- if you are scared leave and if you are not, then get back to work.

Who friggin’ cares? If you’re worried about losing your job and yet you still choose to work at Oracle, then you deserve what you get. Might sound cold, but it’s that simple. Why anyone would put up with living with stress like this, when there are many other far better companies to work for, is beyond comprehension!

So … STOP putting up with this abuse! Get off you fat behinds and find something better.

I was laid off 2 years ago from Oracle, Not because i was a bad performer, i was in fact one of the top 25% in terms of performance. I was however lied to and blinded by my manager , who kept repeating to me how valuable i am to his team in each 1:1 . Not even once my work was complained about. I created trainings for newer members and kept helping them in every scrum meetings.
On a Tuesday morning my manager called me on my personal cell phone and in a cold voice , read the lay off script to me . I waited for the script to finish and said ‘Thank you ……. , you have been great ‘ .
Looking back today that layoff was the best thing that happened to my career yet . I now work at a place where the work culture is much better , pay is better and work-life balance is really good.
Had it not been for the layoff , i would have been sitting at the same place where everything is taken for granted , working long hours .
One thing I learned from this whole episode is NEVER trust your manager , EVER. They can backstab you with a smile on their face .

“ There are no indications of any of that happening anytime this year. “

On one hand, Massive inflation, and rising mortgage rates. On the other hand, No raises. No promotions. Yep, no indications of any problems! All is right in the world!

I’m absolutely confident they’re going to cut H1B and offshore consulting before they lay off any more employees.

Yeah, right.

It will happen. REF estimated 1000 employees. You know the fantastic folks that ensure our building run smooth. Painfully sad and scary. Remember kindness people, kindness. Peace and love.

Of course, there is no indication that there WON'T be, either.
