Thread regarding USAA layoffs

"Build a strong sense of community as we embrace RTO"

Yeah, that's part of a sentence sent in Amala's email today. First, who is this "we"? And what is your definition of embrace? I'm seeing that embrace as being a hot cattle prod poking you in deez nutzz telling you to get back to the office and love it, while you struggle to find a desk in what they love to call "hoteling".

Embrace? More like dysfunctional fake "family" members lying to your face.46

The only thing worse than an open concept office is an open concept office where you don't even have your own seat. The first time I saw this I said to myself...you've got to be kidding me. No office? No partition? Constant chatter and noise all day long. No privacy whatsoever.

Of course, Wayne and Alama have real offices so they are oblivious to this. Open office sucks. It is the worst possible work environment. Is it any wonder that once people got a taste of WFH they have no desire to return to the office?

Apart from that, you have commuting costs, commuting time, daycare expenses, food cost, wear and tear on your car. And for what? So I can sit at some "hotelling" desk that isn't even "your" desk?

The floggings will continue until morale improves. So glad I'm out of that place.
